I find it hard to approach and communicate especially with women. I feel like i'm dull and trying too hard to impress. 99% of the time i either say something that i regret or simply walk away from the opportunities. I feel your pain but have no decent answer other than using alcohol at social situations to help you break the ice (Dutch courage we used to call it,no offence intended) also realize you are tending to be a small introverted in your nature which is as excellent as extroverted is, just different from each other,extroverts have their problems too,they can't survive without the company of others,I bet you are fine on your own much of the time so accept the way you are,having said that I realize you are no closer to approaching girls,I guess you could always 'fess up and say you are the shy type and that's why you are a small pissed but you will be fine tomorrow haha,I reckon that would go over well they are a decent lot generally those women.
